The Matching Grant Program, sponsored by the BIC Foundation, helps jump-start new outreach initiatives and ministries through direct financial assistance. GLC churches are encouraged to apply.

The initiative must be outreach-specific and have measurable results.

Up to $2,000 can be awarded to a new outreach initiative in the first year; up to $1,000 can be awarded to the same ministry initiative in the second and third years.

Matching grants will be a 50% reimbursement of expenses incurred to carry out the initiative.

Additionally, the Great Lakes Conference will award an expense reimbursement of 25%, up to $500.

Over a 3 year time period, a single congregation could receive up to $5, 500 to help get an outreach ministry on it's feet and keep it there.

Example 1:

Your church invests $4,000 into an outreach ministry that has been pre-approved by the matching grant program.

$2000 of that investment will be reimbursed by the BIC Foundation.

An additional $500 is reimbursed by the Great Lakes Conference.

That's $4000 worth of ministry dollars for a $1500 investment in the first year of the ministry.
Example 2:

Your church invests $2000 into an outreach ministry that has been pre-approved by the matching grant program.

$1000 of that investment will be reimbursed by the BIC Foundation.

An additional $500 is reimbursed by the Great Lakes Conference.

That's $2000 worth of ministry dollars for a $500 investment in the first year of the ministry.

Your church invests $1000 into an outreach ministry that has been pre-approved by the matching grant program.

$500 of that investment will be reimbursed by the BIC Foundation.

An additional $250 is reimbursed by the Great Lakes Conference.

That's $1000 worth of ministry dollars for a $250 investment in the first year of the ministry.
